Welcome …

to Ashburton, and to skiing the 2014 Oz-Kiwi Challenge at Lake Hood. Here’s what’s planned to date… with details to follow. Lake Hood is a purpose built recreational lake, 6 km southeast of Ashburton. We have an adjoining Tournament Water Ski Lane on the sheltered river side of the main lake.

Wednesday 22 Flights to Christchurch

Groups may be met, and given a brief tour through the earthquake recovery zone.
Ashburton is an hour south of Christchurch by car
BBQ for anyone training on site

Thursday 23 Training for both NZ and Oz teams, additional training also available on prior days.

2 Nautique 200’s - Slalom and Jump training on the Tournament Site
- Tricks on the main lake (closed for Thursday training)

Friday 24 Competition begins Opening Ceremony
Saturday 25
Sunday 26
Monday 27 Competition ends Prize Giving Dinner
Tuesday 28 Flights out

Accommodation

We have a block booking on East St Ashburton at present, with a range of motels, tourist flats,
cabins and powered sites.
Adjacent motels are also available. An indication of team numbers needed to firm up bookings.
